          THE PROJECTS

2Yards 10Gifts is a set of TEN sewing patterns for awesome things you can make that are fun to sew, make great gifts, and most importantly, only use up a tiny bit of fabric! You can make ALL TEN of these projects for only two yards of fabric total! Each project requires less than 1/3 yard, so that means these patterns are perfect stash-busters. That little bit of beautiful fabric you have that you can't let go of, but don't know what to do with? These patterns are perfect for that.

          The ten patterns are:

          • a mini jewelry roll
          • an envelope clutch with three variations
          • a reversible obi belt with two variations
          • a pair of bedroom slippers
          • a free style bow tie in two styles
          • a watch roll
          • a wallet in two styles
          • a mini tablet sleeve with two variations
          • a baby bib with two variations
          • a sleeping eyemask with two variations

You'll find something for everyone on your list, and each pattern is easily adaptable to add your own personal touches. Each pattern is designed to mix and match small bits of fabric from your stash, so there are so many ways to embellish and personalize each project. You'll want to make each one of these over and over again!

          SKILL LEVEL

All ten projects are appropriate for beginners, but are easy and fun project for both new and experienced sewers. They include lots of skills applicable to all kinds of sewing projects, including using fusible interfacing, inserting zippers, magnetic snaps, sew-in snaps, using skinny elastic, double fold bias tape, and much more!

          SUGGESTED FABRICS & MATERIALS

All of the patterns are designed for woven fabrics. Lightweight fabric is required for the eyemask, the baby bib, the jewelry roll and the slippers, and for the linings of the other items. Medium to heavyweight woven fabrics are appropriate for the wallet, the tablet sleeve, the envelope clutch, the watch roll, the obi belt, and the sole of the slippers.

Felt, fusible fleece or cotton batting are all great choices for the interlining required for several of the patterns. In general, avoid fabrics that are sheer, stretchy, slippery, or drapey.

For lightweight fusible interfacing, I recommend something like Pellon brand Shape-Flex (SF 101), and for medium weight fusible interfacing, something like Pellon décor bond (809) or craft fuse (808).
