- 134 [162, 197, 235] yd/123 [148, 180, 215] m worsted weight, single ply yarn (gauge 20 sts x 32 rows to 4in/10cm over St.St.)
- 34yd/31m yarn for a 6x6in/15x15cm swatch in St.St
- Set 4mm/UK8/US6 DPNs/Circular or size needed to obtain gauge
- Stitch marker as necessary
- Tapestry needle
- Small amount of stuffing for bobble
Alveare’s deep welts pile up like a iconic beehive, creating an irresistibly wearable slouchy Hat with an optional bobble. The alternating bands make for a simple, gratifying knit that shows the beauty of both sides of stocking stitch – choose a soft, smooth yarn such as this BFL singles for best effect.
Worked from the bottom up in worsted weight, the pattern is written in 4 sizes and includes tutorials for two cast-on techniques and I-cord.
