Bird Cape and Mask Pattern includes options for Red Riding Hood Cape and multiple Action Dress-up Capes and Masks for ages 3 to 9.

This pattern can be easily adapted to larger sizes. You can use any colours to depict some of the famous bird characters that are so popular in the movies. You may also use all your old scraps of material to make a very colourful parrot. (or you can up-cycle your old dresses or curtains. The cape is quick and easy to make and requires basic sewing skills. Adding the feathers takes a little more time but is also a very easy task and looks amazing. The masks are also easy to assemble and require cutting skills and some gluing (iron-on applique glue).

Materials you need at home:

For the Cape: Look for inexpensive light-weight materials such as cotton, synthetic shiny lining or cotton knits. Use very light weight material (synthetic lining is ideal) for the feathers so that the cape is not to heavy. * Black Fabric x 60 cm (24 inches) * Blue Fabric x 125 cm (50 inches) * White Fabric x 45 cm (18 inches) * 1 cm (1/2 inch) wide Elastic x 84 cm (33 inches)

For the Mask: * Black Felt 2 x 21 x 21 cm ((9 x 9 inches) * Blue Fabric x Included in the Cape allowance. * White Felt x 21 x 21 cm (9 x 9 inches) * Red Felt x 21 x 21 cm (9 x 9 inches) * Scraps of Felt in grey yellow and white * Sheet of Card (preferably Black) * Shering Elastic x 36 cm (14 inches) * Magic Applique Iron-on x 21 x 21 cm (9 x 9 inches)
