With this crochet pattern you can make this braided checkerboard scarf. It's a very comfortable scarf to wear and it looks beautiful. I have made this pattern with 2 threads crocheted together: 1 white thread and 1 dark petrol thread. The braided parts are made with 2 threads of the same color; 2 white threads or 2 dark petrol threads.
You will get the pattern with American and English crochet terms. This scarf will be approx. 200 x 24 cm/ 79 x 9.4 inch
The stitches that are used are: US: Chain, Half Double Crochet and Slipstitch UK: Chain, Half Treble and Slipstitch
Used yarn: I have used Borgo de Pazzi – Giza: you need approx. 220 grams white yarn (= 550 meters/ 601 yds) and 220 grams dark petrol yarn (= 550 meters/ 601 yds). US: yarn for hook E 4 till G 6 (yarn weight #2, sport, yarn for hook 3.5 – 4 mm) and hook J 10 (6 mm hook). UK: yarn for hook 8 till 9 (yarn weight 4 ply, yarn for hook 3.5 – 4 mm) and hook 4 (6 mm hook)
In the pattern I have added an explanation if you want to make this size scarf with a different yarn weight and (matching) hook.
