Christmas crochet pattern for a hanging ornament.
In classic red and white these ornaments are simple but striking, or use the colours of your choice to match your décor. Soft, unbreakable ornaments are a great choice if you have small children or cats at home, and you can make several from a single ball of yarn.
Made with DK (light worsted weight, Category 3) yarn and a 3.5mm (US: E) hook, the finished ornaments are approximately 6cm or 2.5 inches in diameter. You can easily make larger or smaller ornaments by choosing a different yarn and matching hook. The pattern includes detailed notes on choosing an appropriate yarn.
The pattern includes three different colour-work designs, plus details on how to create your own designs in the central panel of the ornament.
This pattern only uses the dc (US: sc) stitch and its decrease. It is fully illustrated with colour photos and tips are provided throughout. Plus all my crochet patterns come with my full e-mail support for any questions whatsoever.
Tutorials are included on colour changing, and on the ‘invisible’ decrease method which is so useful to learn for 3D and amigurumi projects.
This pattern is available in both UK and US crochet terminology. Both files will be available for you on purchase and you can choose whichever you prefer to use.
The pattern also includes a succinct, 1-page, unillustrated version of the pattern written in traditional crochet notation, for ease of printing.
