    Materials you need at home:

    • Doll Skin, about 20 cm x the entire width of fabric for 8” and up to 1m x WOF for 20” dolls. I am using De Witte Engel Doll skin. You can find it on Etsy.
    • Matching sewing thread (Gütermann, Mettler, Rasant or Nylbond work best)
    • Tubing or Stockinette for making the head, (2.5 cm (1”) wide/ 45 cm long for 8” dolls, 3.5-4 cm wide (1.5”)/ 60-70 cm long for 10” to 12 “ dolls, 5-6 cm (2-2.2”) wide/ 90-120 long for 15” to 20” dolls)
    • Strong cotton thread for tying the head, I use mercerised cotton or crochet cotton yarn
    • Doll Hair (I prefer cotton, bamboo or acrylic yarns, about 50 to 100 g, depending on the doll size and hair length)
    • Depending on the yarn thickness for the hair, I use crochet hooks from 2.5 to 4.0 to make the wig
    • A 3.0 mm crochet hook (for the shoes)
    • Yarn for the doll shoes (8 ply)
    • A long doll maker’s needle and a small one for stitching
    • A stuffing stick or bamboo chopstick
    • An air erasable pen to trace your pattern and mark the position of the eyes
    • Embroidery thread for the eyes and mouth
    • Fabric for the clothes (Depending on the doll size, you can use fabric scraps or will need larger , pieces)
    • I prefer Corn or Eucalyptus fibre for stuffing (about 300 g for 8” dolls, 450 g for 10” dolls, 600-700 g for 12” dolls, 800-1000 g for 15” dolls, 1200-1500 for 18” and around 1700-2000 g for 20” dolls)
