Materials you need at home:
- Blue stocking/stockinette stitch cover - 3 x 100g ball James C. Brett Rustic Mega Chunky; Colour 12. Light grey reverse stocking/stockinette stitch cover - 3 x 100g ball James C. Brett Rustic Mega Chunky; Colour 11. Dark grey double moss (USA moss) stitch cover - 3 x 100g ball James C. Brett Rustic Mega Chunky; Colour 10. (Other superchunky/superbulky yarns may be okay, as long as they knit up on 12mm needles and obtain the correct tension/gauge.)
- 10mm (UK000 – USA15) and 12mm (USA17) knitting needles. (There is no UK equivalent for 12mm).
- 3 x approx 2.5-4.4cm/1.0-1.75in buttons, for each cushion, and cotton thread to sew them on if necessary. (It may be possible to use the yarn if the button’s holes are big enough.)
- A tapestry or large needle to sew up, and a thinner needle for the cotton thread.
- A cushion or foam pad approx 42cm x 42cm/16.5in x 16.5in.
Big 3 cushion covers – 3 different stitches. Superchunky/superbulky yarn makes for an up-to-date and super-quick knit.
Either display the buttons or turn them round for textured chunky knitting. These are envelope cushion covers to enable easy insertion of the cushions.

This pattern is intermediate, as the skills you need to know are - how to cast/bind on and off, knit, purl, combinations of knit and purl, and making buttonholes. Line by line clear instructions will make this a walk in the park. There is an option for a final rib section without buttonholes - you can leave it with out any buttons or you can cheat and simply push smaller buttons through the knitting – this would make the skill level ‘easy’.

The Lonely Sea - Heather Corcoran
I have a bag that say ' I knit therefore I am' - sums me up perfectly! I love to knit and love to design! I have knitted for years, and made and sold literally hundreds of owl gloves and fingerless mitts on-line. About 8 years ago, I decided to give designing and writing patterns a go, and I absolutely love it! The whole process is absolutely captivating, and I love to see other knitters' projects made from my patterns. My beautiful cavvy, Honey, is my constant companion, and she sleeps next to me on the settee while I knit. You can also find me on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thelonelyseapatterns/
