This listing is for a PDF pattern to knit the above bomb.
This is the classic cartoon bomb - two sticks of dynamite, detonators, a timer and some coloured wires. I like knitting weaponry and this pattern is part of a series I designed of various patterns for knitted artifacts of violence and war. These are all the bombs we need!
10% of the sale price of this bomb goes to MAG - Mines Advisory Group, whose work includes clearing landmines.
It is a fairly easy knit, done mostly in the round, using both knit and purl, with simple increases (kfb) and decreases (k2tog) and some I-cord for the detonators. The pattern could easily be converted for making up on two needles. It uses double knit yarn, but as gauge isn't important it could be made with any yarn lurking in the large stash any self-respecting knitter has hidden away for emergencies, along with some stuffing.
Gauge: 5 sts or 8 rows per inch
Finished size: 10.5" x 4.5" X 4" 27 x 11 x 10cm
