A classic and elegant cardigan with a lace-like buttoning band to be realise with a hook. The model crosses over on the front, for the left front edge the finish is a chain selvage (explained with the pattern). Closing is assured by fancy buttons (no buttonholes, they are the openwork of the lace).
To keep the left half front in place, 2 snaps are sewn on the inside lapel ... they can be replaced by crochet links (explanation included in the tutorial).
This model is coordinated with the twisted slippers and the little pixie hat ... knit the set from 4 or 5 balls.(depending on the chosen size)
The model is made in Quality Lambswool of Phildar with needles 2,5 mm and 3 mm. It is knitted flat 1/1rib and stocking stitch with straight needles.
For the lace stitches used are chain (ch), double crochet (dc) and treble crochet 2tog (tr2tog). UK
The gauge is 26 m x 36 rows (= 10 x 10 cm / = 4’’ in stocking stitch with needles 3 mm). You can knit this model in other qualities with the gauge same.
Other yarns can be use : Quality Orient of Cheval Blanc, Quality Peques of Katia ... or yarn with a similar gauge : Rose & Lou of Plassard, Pingorex of Pingouin, Mérinos 2,5 or Calinou of Bergère de France.
The model is available in 6 sizes : new born, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and 24 months.
