Round Collar Yoke Dress - The Kitty
This listing includes printable versions for A4 format in English and German and US letter size for ages 1-12 as three separate zip files.
This top has 3 different length options, you can line it or use bias binding for the armholes. It's aimed at the confident beginner / intermediate experience level and has a gorgeous round yoke which I lined in contrast fabric. The pockets are the main attraction on this dress but you can also leave them for a different look.
You also receive a cheats version for the yoke in the written instructions and in video form, detailed diagrams, measurement charts and a comprehensive list with links to all the video support available. There are two length options, tunic which is above the knee and mid hip for a short fashionable top your girl will love.
If you have made a pattern of mine this is definitely upping the stakes a bit, as I added a fastening to the back. Its an easy way to fasten a garment and the technique is the same as you would use for a gentlemen's sleeve opening.
For the dress I used a soft denim and for the yoke a fine cord. The yoke lining needs to really pop, so go wild. Its a great idea to match the yoke lining and the seam finish. If you don't have a serger use bias binding to cover the rough edges. Check the website where I also show you how to make your own bias binding for the seam finish.
Whether you are an expert or just starting out the video tutorial will make it very clear what you have to do. If you are unsure if you can handle this pattern then simply watch the video to reassure yourself before you purchase the pattern. And for all those of you that love to keep all instruction neatly in a folder,my instructions booklet (attached to size 2) contains page after page with photo's just to make doubly sure you know what to do.
The pattern is available for immediate download so you can get started straight away.
Your pattern comes with all the sizes – 1-2 - 10-12 .
None of my patterns are multi sized so there is one size per file, this saves a lot of paper and confusion as to which line you have to cut.
Every pattern is hand drafted and then imported into a CAD program to make sure you have a pattern that fits and looks good too! No pattern is automatically graded or computer generated with software. Having trained as a tailor 30 years ago I know that pattern generating software can never replace the skill of a pattern drafted by hand. Try my patterns and you will love the fit. No loose armholes that are cut too low or sleeves that hang of the shoulder.
The pattern pack includes: • A pattern in PDF format ready to print on regular A4/letter size paper with assembly instructions • Detailed step by step photo tutorial • Detailed video instructions on You Tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDapS7dD_PA&list=PLlWbGLMyFtwHopdtqPLArPA2zfMOda2IA • Fabric requirements
No serger is required to make this dress.
If you want to reproduce this dress for your own small business I would be delighted. Please note that the patterns I design are not to be used for larger scale production.
