Here’s a cute little knitted Valentines’ Day gift! This cute little Bitsy Baby doll is wearing a special “I love you” message. Bitsy is holding a big soft heart with an embroidered kiss on it.

Bitsy Babies are cute little pocket sized dolls. They are made from bits and pieces of left over yarn- That is why they are called- Bitsy Babies!

They are so quick and easy to make. An ideal project for new knitters and fun little project for more experienced crafters.

You can create your own Bitsy Baby in just an evening. – The body and head are knitted in one piece and after seaming and stuffing the legs are created by sewing a seam through from front to back to divide the legs.

The arms use very simple shaping and are sewn on when making up this cute little character.

Size-14cm /5.5”- Just the right size to fit in a pocket!

Recommended yarn: -Stylecraft Special Knit DK, Paint box yarns Simply DK or any similar double knit yarn Check the recommended needle size for your yarn and use a needle 1 size smaller.

This will give a close textured stocking stitch which will hold its shape well when stuffed

My sketch book is always full of new toy and doll characters waiting to be created in yarn.

I love bringing them to life with my knitting needles!

I spend my days in my sunny studio with my Siamese cat for company.

Surrounded by colourful yarn, my hands are busy clicking the knitting needles or sketching current ideas.

I create dolls and toys to celebrate the seasons and important times in people’s lives, Christmas and Easter- New babies and snuggly tired toddlers.

In between creating new dolls and teddy bears. I’ve created patterns for knitting magazines and worked with retail firms to create knitting kits.

I started out selling my knitted and felted bags at Craft and Design events where I enjoyed meeting other knitting enthusiasts.

It was these knitters who convinced me to publish my patterns for others to enjoy.

I do hope you enjoy your knitting project and if you would like to read more about my work please visit my website www.clairefairalldesigns.co.uk
