Adult Shawl/Scarf - one size
Double Knit/light worsted
This is a lovely modern shawl, with grey owls running along the lower edge, and the sky fading into indigo. It is knitted in the same way as an asymmetrical shawl, but the end result is virtually a triangle, with the increase edge running along the top. The tassels are optional.
An easy/intermediate knit, you will need to know the basics plus yfwd, kfb and k2tog, and some very simple cabling – C4F and C4B – all this described in detail, line by line, with British and American terms. The pattern is 5 pages long, with the first page just photos, so you could opt not to print this. Photos included to help with tassel making.
This shawl could be an extra layer, worn as a scarf over the top of a Winter coat. Or it could also be worn as a cosy wrap on a cool summer’s eve.
The Lonely Sea - Heather Corcoran
I have a bag that say ' I knit therefore I am' - sums me up perfectly! I love to knit and love to design! I have knitted for years, and made and sold literally hundreds of owl gloves and fingerless mitts on-line. About 8 years ago, I decided to give designing and writing patterns a go, and I absolutely love it! The whole process is absolutely captivating, and I love to see other knitters' projects made from my patterns. My beautiful cavvy, Honey, is my constant companion, and she sleeps next to me on the settee while I knit. You can also find me on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thelonelyseapatterns/
