- US Imperial measurements/Metric measurements
- To fit cushion 41cm x 41cm/ 16in x 16in, (although cushions from 38cm/15in square to 46cm/18in square should also be suitable).

Materials you need at home:
- 3 x 100g ball James C. Brett Rustic Mega Chunky Shade CS1. [Other superchunky/superbulky yarns may be suitable, but they must give the desired tension/gauge on 12mm (USA17) needles.]
- 10mm (UK000 – USA15) and 12mm (USA17) knitting needles. (There is no UK equivalent for 12mm).
- 3 x approx. 3-4cm/1-1.5in buttons for the opening at the back if using, and matching cotton thread.
- A cable needle (approx. 6.5mm or larger).
- A tapestry or large needle to sew up, and a thinner needle for the cotton thread.
- A cushion or foam pad approx. 41cm x 41cm/16in x 16in.
A lovely, chunky, cable, cushion cover. Super-chunky/super-bulky yarn makes for an up-to-date and super-quick knit.
Either display the buttons or turn them round for textured, chunky knitting. This is an envelope cushion cover to enable easy insertion of the cushion, with or without buttonholes.
This pattern is easy/intermediate, as the skills you need to know are - how to cast/bind on and off, knit, purl, combinations of knit and purl, make one st, making buttonholes and very simple cabling – a great introduction for those new to this. There is an option for a final rib section without buttonholes – you can cheat and simply push smaller buttons through the knitting – this is an easier option. Instructions are written line by line in English, with British/US terms.

The Lonely Sea - Heather Corcoran
I have a bag that say ' I knit therefore I am' - sums me up perfectly! I love to knit and love to design! I have knitted for years, and made and sold literally hundreds of owl gloves and fingerless mitts on-line. About 8 years ago, I decided to give designing and writing patterns a go, and I absolutely love it! The whole process is absolutely captivating, and I love to see other knitters' projects made from my patterns. My beautiful cavvy, Honey, is my constant companion, and she sleeps next to me on the settee while I knit. You can also find me on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thelonelyseapatterns/
