This top down shawl is worked as a semi-circular design which begins with a garter tab cast-on.
The body of the shawl is classicaly worked increasing at the edge and in the middle panel of the shawl.
The lace border is worked perpendicular to the body of the shawl. This method was used for the lace shawls of the Shetland Islands or for the Estonian lace shawls.
