As the name suggests, this project is a file organizer made out of fabric that hangs up on the wall. The back is quilted. (And I am not a quilter, so no worries if you’re not either.)
There are two file folder sized pockets and one sized for envelopes; placement is up to you. To add custom touches, you can make your own (continuous) bias binding and then add some faux appliqués to personalize the finished project with monograms. As a bonus, instructions for how to do so are included in this PDF.
This project is for the experienced and confident beginner who wants to tackle something new. As mentioned above, the backing is quilted, so if you’ve thought about trying some quilting, this is an excellent chance to do so without being afraid of messing it up. Why? The quilting is mostly hidden. Same idea with the bias binding/tape. If you’ve never attached binding before, here is a great opportunity to try it out.
In short, this project will let you to hone your sewing skills in some potentially new areas that you may not have considered before… and that makes it fun.
This organizer is about 30" (76cm) long x 14" (35.5cm) wide.
