              Samwelle is like your best friend, or favourite toy. It’s reliable, snuggly and comforting. Designed to keep the torso and head warm while allowing those busy kid limbs to keep moving.

              Construction:
              Samwelle is knit seamlessly from the top down and incorporates kid-friendly saddle shoulders. Samwelle features a crossover textured yoke and contrast striping, which is repeated on the kangaroo pocket, hood and edgings. This is an easy to wear and easy to knit garment.

              Sizing:
              Finished chest measurement: 15-21: 16¾/42.5 (18/46, 19/48.5, 20/51) 20¾/52.5, 22¼/56.5, 23/58.5 22-30: 24/61 (24¾/63, 26¼/66.5, 27/68.5) 28/71, 29¾/75.5, 31½/80, 33¼/84.5 inches/cms

              This is a classic fitting garment with approximately 2½ to 3 inches/6.5 to 7.5 cms of positive ease graduated across the size range. Sample shown in the 22” size knit to size 6 lengths on a six year old with a 22½” chest.

              Tension: 18 stitches and 26 rows/round = 4 inches in stocking stitch.

              Yarn Requirements:
              10ply/worsted weight yarn

              • Sized for chest measurements of 15 to 30 inches/38 to 76 cms. (Fits approximately newborn to 12 years.)

              • Main colour: 15-21: 220/205 (240/220, 260/240, 290/265) 320/295, 350/320, 380/350 22-30: 410/375 (440/405, 480/440, 520/475) 560/515, 600/550, 640/585, 690/630
              • Contrast colour: 15-21: 50/45 (60/55, 70/65, 70/65) 80/75, 80/75, 90/85 22-30: 90/85 (100/95, 100/95, 110/100) 120/110, 130/120, 140/130, 150/140 yards/metres approximately.
              • US8/5mm: 16"/40cm or 24"/60cm circular (or size required for tension) and an extra needle for working the pocket
              • US7/4.5mm: 12"/30cm*, 16"/40cm or 24"/60cm circular (or one size smaller than required for tension) *or preferred method for small circumference knitting
