Sarah Owl was a character in a book I used to read to my daughter Sarah when she was young. We read it so often, we both knew the text off by heart! And now she’s all grown up, she’s modelling this lovely, chunky, owl poncho! The pattern allows different stitch textures to shine, with owls thrown in for good measure!
It is an easy/ intermediate knit, with very simple cabling, so would suit a very confident beginner who wants a challenge, or a straightforward knit for a more experienced knitter. It is knitted in two pieces and sewn together. Line by line instructions, in English, with British/American terms where necessary. Photos included to help with sewing up.
It wiil fit a small to large adult. A cosy, fashionable knit, for getting out and about.
Photographed on a UK size 12, US size 8 model. Fits from approx 76cm/30in up to approx 112cm/44in chest.
Laid flat – Widest point across - 84cm/33in. Depth, from centre top to lower point - 64cm/25in. From neck edge to the edge just past the elbow – 46cm/18in.
Each piece - approx. 71cm/28in x 46cm/18in.

I have a bag that say ' I knit therefore I am' - sums me up perfectly! I love to knit and love to design! I have knitted for years, and made and sold literally hundreds of owl gloves and fingerless mitts on-line. About 8 years ago, I decided to give designing and writing patterns a go, and I absolutely love it! The whole process is absolutely captivating, and I love to see other knitters' projects made from my patterns. My beautiful cavvy, Honey, is my constant companion, and she sleeps next to me on the settee while I knit. You can also find me on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thelonelyseapatterns/
