School Summer Dress to fit 18" dolls like American Girl dolls

The A-line style is a classic and is perfect for doll dresses. This design is perfect for making a summer school uniform dress but the classic A-line design is also a great starting place for wonderful summer dresses. There are many possibilities for using trims or piping and decorative buttons.

The eased sleeve requires confidence with your sewing machine because you have to get your fingers close to the foot and needle but you can always use any of the sleeves that have gathered heads from other patterns to make the sewing a bit easier.

Recommended fabrics: Use plaids or school uniform checks to match your child's school uniform or use any small florals or plains with contrast collars. You could also cut the front and backs on the bias for a great look with plaids.

This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18” dolls like American Girl®

Supplies Needed: Fabric - 18" of 36" wide fabric

Closure - 3 small patches of hook and loop closure
