I already knew Miss Babs’ wonderful yarns from having designed Alpine Water Shawl for her in the past, but when I saw a beautiful gradient shawl online, I asked Miss Babs whether she ever custom-dyed gradient sets, and she replied she would be happy to develop a color set specially for me. After we had talked about possible colors, I forwarded color samples found on Pinterest in my favorite purplish hues, which Miss Babs used for inspiration to develop a gem of a unique purple gradient set. The colors and slip stitch pattern were perfect to show the beauty of Miss Babs' gradient set and reminded me of all the different colors and shapes of sea glass, hence the name: “Sea Gems”. And this is how this asymmetrical triangle shawl came to life.
