Strudel slouchy hat - knitting pattern

A romantic rasta-style Hat with a deep textured brim and light, airy body that can be worn in a number of ways. Wear back for a casual look, forward for the beret look or to the side to be just that little bit different.

Skills required: 
Knit & purl sts, short rows (w&t), provisional cast-on, kitchener stitch, cables, basic lace (eyelets)

Gauge: 
 24 sts x 32 rows to 4in/10cm on 3.5mm needles over St.St.

Note: 
Fit is determined by row gauge – if your gauge differs, simply work more or fewer panels to achieve the desired size.

  • 36yd/33m yarn for a 6x6in/15x15cm swatch in St.St.

  • Pair 3.5mm/UK--/US4 straight needles or size needed to obtain gauge

  • 3.5mm crochet hook

  • Approx. 3yd/3m waste yarn
