Description
This is a bit corny! My new vegetable toy is a sweetcorn. The texture of the corn on the cob is created by knitting in hurdle stitch which is a simple combination of knit and purl stitches. I have been working on a box of different vegetables, and if you are new to making knitted toys these make an easy introduction to the craft as they don’t have lots of pieces to sew together. If you are a beginner knitter this pattern may introduce you to some new techniques including: a double increase (knit into the front, back and front again of a stitch to make 2 additional stitches), and a psso decrease (pass the slipped stitch over).
