- 39yd/36m yarn for a 6x6in/15x15cm swatch in St.St.
- Set 3mm/UK11/US2½ & 3.25mm/UK10/US3 DPNs/Circular or size needed to obtain gauge
- 3.25mm crochet hook
- Approx 3yd/3m waste yarn
- Stitch marker as necessary
- Tapestry needle
This pillbox style Hat stands tall with its tapering shape and firm fabric. The fabric is knit at a tighter gauge to ensure the shape remains proud while clever construction continues the shape right to the very top.
Skills required: Knit & purl sts, provisional cast on, joining live sts, increases & decreases, knitting in the round, tucks
Gauge: 24 sts x 36 rows to 4in/10cm on 3.25mm needles over St.St. 24 sts x 40 rows to 4in/10cm on 3mm needles over Moss (Seed) Stitch
Note: The yarn is knitted tighter than recommended gauge for firmness of fabric.
