Topsy Turvey Doll - DK Wool

Makerist - Topsy Turvey Doll - DK Wool - Knitting Showcase - 1

                Work Description

My children always loved Topsy Turvey dolls or Upside Down dolls. I took this doll to work, I am a ballet teacher. The children couldn't put it down, turning it upside down and then immediately the other way. I am amazed it is still in one piece. The doll is small, only 17cms tall. I have used two very basic Fair Isle patterns. This is very simple to do & is a great introduction to weaving the wool at the back of the work. I think Lilles looks like a May Queen. The body & head are knitted all in one & then both bodies are sewn together. She is finished off with a belt & crown. The crown has a picot edging.
