A super-cosy, super-chunky/super-bulky poncho to wrap up in for that walk by the sea, on a sandy seashore! It’s like being wrapped in a blanket! Moss stitch sections, (USA seed stitch), and stocking/stockinette stitch sections combine to make a modern, textured look.
The poncho is one size fits most, approx. 76cm/30in – 112cm/44in chest, (possibly even larger as there’s a lot of stretch in it).
The pattern is easy - skills needed are cast/bind on and off, and knit and purl. Suitable for a confident beginner, or a relaxing knit while you watch tv, or natter with friends. Instructions are written line by line, in English with British/USA terms, plus photos and diagrams to help with sewing up.
I have used Drops Snow Unicolour wool, but Viking of Norway is a virtually identical yarn.
Please click on my name to be taken to a variety of poncho patterns, plus hats, scarves, gloves, shawls, cushions, lots of owl patterns, and a free owl scarf. Thank you!
Just right for that walk by the sea!
The Lonely Sea - Heather Corcoran
I have a bag that say ' I knit therefore I am' - sums me up perfectly! I love to knit and love to design! I have knitted for years, and made and sold literally hundreds of owl gloves and fingerless mitts on-line. About 8 years ago, I decided to give designing and writing patterns a go, and I absolutely love it! The whole process is absolutely captivating, and I love to see other knitters' projects made from my patterns. My beautiful cavvy, Honey, is my constant companion, and she sleeps next to me on the settee while I knit. You can also find me on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thelonelyseapatterns/
