Materials you need at home:
- 1 x 170g ball Lion Brand Yarns Wool Ease Thick and Quick – (97m/106yd per 170g ball) – Super Bulky 6 – Colour Fig 146, Raspberry 112, Fisherman 99 or Blossom 103, or any other colour.
- 9mm (UK00 – US13) single-point knitting needles.
- A large/tapestry needle to sew up and weave/sew ends in.
- 4 pompoms approx. 5cm/2in in diameter. You can make these with a pompom maker/card circles or use fluffy pompoms.
Practical and stylish – this cabled tea cosy ticks all the right boxes! Super-chunky/super-bulky yarn means your tea stays hotter longer! And fluffy pompoms add a cheerful touch! Or leave the plaited cord simply tied in a bow. 2 cup and 6 cup teapot.
It is an easy/intermediate knit, knitted flat and sewn up - a very confident beginner should be able to manage - basic knitting skills are needed, plus yarn forward, knit 2sts together and very simple cable, simple even for a first-time cabler! Instructions are written line by line in English, with British and US terms.
I have used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick - Fig 146, Raspberry 112, Fisherman 99, Blossom 103. Small amounts of yarn from your stash could be used for the pompoms, to keep costs down. Or make all of it in one colour. Or make more than one cosy!
Great for presents, or keep it for yourself!

The Lonely Sea - Heather Corcoran
I have a bag that say ' I knit therefore I am' - sums me up perfectly! I love to knit and love to design! I have knitted for years, and made and sold literally hundreds of owl gloves and fingerless mitts on-line. About 8 years ago, I decided to give designing and writing patterns a go, and I absolutely love it! The whole process is absolutely captivating, and I love to see other knitters' projects made from my patterns. My beautiful cavvy, Honey, is my constant companion, and she sleeps next to me on the settee while I knit. You can also find me on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thelonelyseapatterns/
