Courgettes are a summer squash, also known as zucchini. I love them in a scrumptious ratatouille. Botanically they are a fruit, but in cooking and nutrition they are treated as a vegetable. Knitted veggies are super toys to encourage little ones to eat healthily, or you can use them as decorative items in your home. I have been working on a box of different vegetables, and if you are new to making knitted toys these make an easy introduction to the craft as they don’t have lots of pieces to sew together. My knitted veggies are worked flat on straight knitting needles, but most pieces could easily be converted to knitting in the round if that is your preference.
